The Thai government has launched a scheme called Shop Dee Mee Khuen whereby individuals can claim a personal income tax deduction up to the maximum of THB 30,000 by keeping tax receipts between October 23 and December 31, 2020.
On the 7th of October 2020, The Centre for Covid-19 Economic Situation Administration made an announcement regarding a proposed personal income tax (PIT) deduction scheme, called Shop Dee Mee Khuen. This proposal was confirmed by the Council of Ministers on 12th October.
The program will allow taxpayers to claim a deduction of up to THB 30,000 per person for the Annual Personal Income Tax submission for 2020, which will need to be filed by 31st March 2021. This program will run from October 23 to December 31, 2020.
Keeping tax receipts
In order to take advantage of this THB 30,000 PIT reduction you must get an official tax invoice or receipt from the product/service provider with your name, tax ID number and address (Note that Thai nationals have an ID card number that doubles as their tax ID), and keep the receipt for filing with your annual PIT submission.

There are certain types of goods and services which will be excluded from this program:
- Beverages (wine, alcohol, beer, etc…)
- Tobacco products
- Gasoline
- Transportation
- Newspaper or Magazine
- Online service for the magazine or newspaper
- Travel agents
- Hospitalities, flight tickets
Note: The promotion will not be applicable for people who have a welfare card or who are signed up on the Kon-la-klung
