What is an LTR visa?
LTR visa is a visa that aspires to incentivise wealthy & skilled foreign residents to bring innovation, talent and capital into the country. With the help of an LTR visa bundled with tax & non-tax benefits, the Thai government hopes to boost domestic spending and position the country as a “work from anywhere” location.

10 years of renewable visa permission to stay in Thailand. It will last for five years and can be extended for another five years after that if qualifications are met

Wealth status & investment
- Assets worth at least 1 million USD
- Annual personal income of a minimum of 80,000 USD over the past two years
- A minimum of 500,000 USD invested in Thai government bonds, Thai property or foreign direct investment
Health insurance
- Medical insurance with min coverage of USD 50,000 or at least 100,000 USD deposit or social security benefits insuring treatment in Thailand
Wealthy pensioners
Wealth status & investment
- Annual personal income of a minimum of USD 80,000 over the past two years
- Applicants with a personal income of less than USD 80,000 per year but no less than USD 40,000 per year must invest at least USD 250,000 in Thai property, Thai government bonds or foreign direct investment
Health insurance
- Medical insurance with min coverage of USD 50,000 or at least USD 100,000 deposit or social security benefits insuring treatment in Thailand
Work-from-Thailand professionals
Personal income
- Annual personal income of a minimum of USD 80,000 over the past two years
- Applicants with a personal income of less than USD 80,000 per year but no less than USD 40,000 per year over the past two years must own intellectual property or have a Master’s degree or above or receive Series A funding
Current employer & experience
- Public company listed on a stock exchange or a private company with at least three years of operation with three years of combined revenue of at least USD 150 million
- Minimum five years of work experience in the relevant sectors of the current employment over the past 10 years

Highly-skilled professionals
Personal income

Additionally, spouse and children under 20 years old of LTR Visa holders (maximum 4 dependents in total per one LTR Visa holder):
- Medical insurance with at least 50,000 USD coverage or at least 25,000 USD deposit or social security benefits insuring treatment in Thailand
- Must be the legal dependants (children and spouse). (Same-sex partnerships or marriage are not yet currently recognized by the law of Thailand)
Application process
How to apply for the LTR visa?
1. Application submission
Register and submit an online application for qualification endorsement for an LTR Visa along with other supporting documents.
2. Qualification endorsement
After having received a complete set of documents, applicants will be notified of the result within the following 20 working days.
3. Visa issuance
Within 60 days from the date the endorsement letter was issued, qualified candidates may proceed with applying for an LTR visa issuance at the Royal Thai Embassies, Royal Thai Consulate Generals abroad, or Immigration offices in Thailand.
In the case of obtaining an LTR visa in Thailand, the processing fee for a 10-year visa with multiple entries is 50,000 THB per person. When obtaining an LTR visa at the Royal Thai Consulate Generals overseas, the Royal Thai Embassies or via E-visa, a fee may vary based on the currency exchange rate of each country.
4. Digital work permit issuance
Applicants who are currently working in Thailand may receive digital work permits at the Department of Employment at One Stop Service Center for Visa and Work Permit, Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok or provincial labour offices. The annual processing fee for a digital work permit is 3,000 THB.
